Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and qualified School Nurse to promote the health and well-being of our students and staff. The School Nurse will provide first aid and emergency care, manage student health records, administer medications, and support a safe and healthy school environment.

Responsibilities:

First Aid and Emergency treatment: As needed, give students and staff members emergency treatment and first aid right away. This includes dealing with mishaps, wounds, and unexpected illnesses.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure that all students' medical records are correct and kept private. Record medical evaluations, interventions, and treatments in compliance with school’s requirements.
Collaborative approach: Collaborate with other school personnel, including teachers, school coordinator and admin staff in order to promote student health and well-being.
Medication Management: Timely administer students with prescribed medicines as directed by their doctors at times of illness according to their medication schedules and ensure it is followed. Help students manage health illnesses that need medicine during the school day as well.
Students Health Promotion Programs: To promote a culture of wellbeing within the school, develop and implement initiatives and programs related to health promotion. This could entail planning exercise events, conducting seminars and training for teachers, and health fairs.
Streamlining Insurance Procedure: Create a streamlined method for verifying students' insurance coverage at the start of each school year or during enrolling. Keep a well-organized database with all of the insurance information, including emergency contacts, coverage details, and policy numbers.

Other Specification

Qualifications for School Nurse:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in any other related subjects
Knowledge of CPR, treatment protocols and first aid
Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali, as well as school health services.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and parents and an optimistic outlook.

Other Specification:

Perform other duties as assigned
Ensure that the school is stocked with necessary medical supplies and materials as well as restocking medicine.
Provide necessary support to teachers on students wellbeing activities from time to time.
Should maintain the hygienic environment in school infirmary
Provide students with information and education on their prescriptions
Knowledge and application of appropriate health strategies and methods
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
Capability to work independently as well as part of a team with a proactive, goal-oriented mindset.
Experience working with children and young people will be advantageous.
