We are looking to recruit 15 Saathi Teachers in the 8th cohort to work in our partner municipalities-Paanchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district and Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality and Bandipur Rural Municipality in Tanahun district. The cohort after selection will have to attend Saathi Teachers programme events and graduate from a few weeks long pre-service residential training taking place towards the end of this academic year and finally start working as a Saathi Teacher from Baisakh 2084 for two years.

About the Programme:
Saathi Teachers Programme is an educational initiative under Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership (HELP) operating under the theme of ‘Primary Must Not Be Secondary. It offers paired and paid placement for individuals seeking to teach Math or English at Basic Level in rural communities in order to help transform the educational experience of children. It is two years of supervised programme to increase literacy and numeracy skills of students, with additional focus on fostering and developing 21 st century 4C skills (Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication, and Collaboration) in students.
Saathi Teachers Programme works in partnership with the local government and the schools to assist the overall growth of the students and the school. We currently work in three Rural Municipalities- Paanchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district and Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality and Bandipur Rural Municipality in Tanahun district. The partner municipalities pay for the large part of the Saathi Teachers’ direct stipend and the programme’s operational part is largely supported by Mondo Foundation, our UK partner organization, with contribution from Inter Hands Foundation to ensure we can sustain the programme in three municipalities.
About HELP:
Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership (HELP) is a local NGO set up in 2009 intending to improve the quality of education in remote schools of Sindhupalchowk. As a grassroots local non-profit organization, we currently run five core programmes; Saathi Teachers Programme, Scholarship and Leadership Programme, School in a Bag Programme, Volunteer Programme and Livelihood Support Programme, designed and aimed to complement each other and strengthen the quality of education.

Key Competencies
Minimum Bachelors level in any relevant field or acquire Bachelors degree by April 2027.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach English or Mathematics from grade 1 to 5 in the placed schools or work as a Grade Teacher in any one of the grades
Develop and integrate 21st-century 4Cs skills (Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication) into everyday classroom activities
Use innovative and child-centric pedagogy to engage students, create a safe and inclusive learning environment in the classroom
Prepare annual, trimester, unit and daily lesson plans for assigned subjects in line with the national/ local curriculum Saathi Teachers Programme Application Form 2027
Prepare and utilize various teaching and learning materials to engage the students and make learning fun
Plan and execute in-class and outdoor activities and events to enhance the academic and non-academic skills of the students
Conduct regular classroom assessments of students and track them
Maintain accurate records and portfolio of students' academic performance and report them to school stakeholders and the TDCs
Under direct supervision of the Principal and the SMC, work towards implementing the School Improvement Plan
Communicate, consult and cooperate with other teachers and staff of the school, parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students
Reflect and evaluate one's teaching and learning strategies and methodologies align with the National Education Goals
Prepare and submit trimester reports, reflections, write ups and other reports to the TDC
Work together as a member of cluster and provide support in cluster initiatives and projects
Participate and contribute to shared learning by attending quarterly and mid-year trainings
Conduct a small-scale Community Action Project (CAP) within two years of Saathi journey to identify and address critical issues within their placed communities
Perform any other duties as assigned by the school Principal
