The associate will work closely with head of Risk Management & Compliance to implement Enterprise Risk Management Framework, global policies, and relevant regulatory requirements. This role requires coordination with management and other functional areas in the country to ensure all risks in the country are identified, measured, mitigated/managed, and monitored/reported and shall be a value-added business partner by pursuing risk adjusted return optimization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Partner in development and implementation of an annual risk management plan in line with local and global MetLife strategy.
• Work closely with country head of risk and compliance to ensure global risk policies and operating models are appropriately localized and implemented, including appropriate risk limit setting and monitoring.
• Implementation of the MetLife’s Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA) program including effective monitoring and testing, issues escalation and remediation, and necessary documentation in OpenPages and reporting.
• Maintain key risk indicators and risk dashboard for Nepal in collaboration with the businesses.
• Partner with Investment, Actuarial, Finance, and Product team to manage financial risks that cover credit, interest rate, equity, liquidity, insurance and product risks
• Perform risk-based analytics of the business; and provide outcomes to local stakeholders, where immediate attention is required.
• Maintaining and enhancing risk event data collection process and database; Analysing internal and external risk event data with the objective to present / provide trend value-add analysis of losses from operational incidents within the organization.
• Support for the implementation of country Economic Capital (EC), Assets-Liabilities management (ALM) and Risk based Capital (RBC) for the country, as relevant.
• Responsible for conducting risk management trainings and awareness for the business in order to improve the control environment.
• Foster a strong risk management culture, including effective training and communication.
• Support Risk Management Committee in carrying out its responsibilities.
• Preparation of risk reports/dashboards and monitor the progress of the risk management activities.
