Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a dedicated Residential / Hostel Teacher to supervise and support students in the hostel environment. The role involves academic assistance, mentoring, and ensuring students’ emotional, physical, and social well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Science and/or Mathematics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a safe, disciplined, and nurturing hostel atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support students during study hours, providing academic assistance, remedial teaching.
Maintain a safe, disciplined, and nurturing hostel environment with effective routine management.
Provide guidance and care by supporting students’ emotional, physical, and social well-being.
Motivate students, promote self-discipline, and guide positive behavior.
Ensure safety and security within hostel premises, including supervision during daily routines, meals, and activities.
Communicate regularly with parents and coordinate with school staff; maintain records of student progress and behavior.
Organize and supervise recreational, cultural, and co-curricular activities for holistic development.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level (Science background preferred).
Strong subject knowledge (Science & Mathematics) to support students academically.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage discipline, handle conflicts, and respond to emergencies with patience and sound judgment.
Willingness to reside in or be available for hostel duties with a flexible schedule.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

Experience in hostel management, mentoring, or student supervision.
Basic counseling skills and understanding of adolescent behavior.
Knowledge of first aid, child protection, and safety practices.
Proficiency in ICT tools for reporting and communication.
Ability to organize extracurricular and life-skill activities.
