Job Description

General Objective:

  • Conduct data collection for FUSAM Research Project. Research Testers are responsible :

To participate in data collection :

  • Interview people and complete the questionnaire of the study, taking anthropometric measurements of children :
  • Participate in awareness and mobilizing communities
  • Explain to families the purpose and process of the research project
  • Conduct ethical research procedures (follow information and consent procedures as described in the protocol).
  • Observe and collect information on participants during the testing sessions in terms of mental health and nutritional status.
  • Interview participants in local language and questions and complete questionnaires legibly
  • Conduct precise measurement of the weight, height and arm circumference of children as defined in the study protocol and note the decimal place their data in the corresponding records.
  • Conduct testing and interviews comitting to ethical and confidentiality procedures, including blindness regarding research treatments and collect data properly

Manage testing equipment such as technical questionnaires and anthropometric material (ex. balance, height measuring board:

  • Ensure that the equipment remains in good condition during use and inform the research officer the need of equipment replacement if needed;
  • Report questionnaires and equipment to the research officer after use.

Report regularly on the status of data collection in the field:

  • Develop initiatives for good organization of data collection.
  • Report regularly to the research officer, in particular if difficulties arise on the ground (bad data collection, difficulties in maintaining the calendar, etc.)
  • Work in collaboration with the data entry to ensure that the data are well entered and compiled
  • Inform in case of difficulties regarding the testing procedure
  • Inform the head of research regarding the participation of the families to the different tests.
  • Organize adequate timing and meetings for testing with families.

Contract Period: For 6 months with the possibility of extension
