Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Research and Development Manager, the Research Assistant is expected to support the project in all research related activities through ensuring efficient implementation of research and data analysis processes and systems in the office. The Research Assistant will be supporting in conducting various types of product and market related research through data analysis, questionnaire design, maintain the network of outside consultants/researchers and provide technical input and support on the day‐to‐day works related to research and assessment. The Research Assistant will also be required to contribute in the research capacity building of the research interns/staff of the organization.

Technical and Deliverables:

• Provide technical input on research and assessment works
• Conduct various types of research (quantitative and qualitative)
• Conduct and prepare quick study and case studies
• Designing / preparing of research plan, questionnaire/ reports and, tabulations
• Coordinate and oversea field interventions for data collection through interviews and focus group discussion (FGDs)
• Contribute substantial input to development of work plans, research questions, project concept notes, and field research guides
• Maintain regular contact with related institutions and network of researchers
• Prepare research training materials, tools on conducting research and data analysis
• Assist in the research activities
• Coordinate field visits, and ability to travel to the research areas
• Organize and arrange meetings with external experts and senior consultants for research work
•  Participate in the analysis of the data and the final report publications
• Assist in authoring research reports, briefing notes, policy papers, and other materials as required
• Help to develop and coordinate research dissemination and follow-up activities, including providing substantive advice on the future direction of the program
• Any other tasks that may be identified by Research and development Manager

Field Research Management Activities:

• Conduct interviews with a variety of stakeholders using a full range of qualitative and quantitive research techniques
• Assist in the recruitment and management of a local research team, including providing training, mentoring and on-site monitoring of research activities
• Provide insights into the findings of field research, using substantial local knowledge (political, institutional, cultural, etc
• Other duties as required
