ChoraChori-Nepal (CCN) is a registered NGO which rescues Nepali children from abusive situations in Nepal and India, manages their trauma and reintegrates them with their families and communities. Where this is not possible, we provide for children’s care, education and training until they can look after themselves as young adults. Since early 2018, CCN have also been involved in cases of child rape within Nepal, and currently support survivors at CCN's Children's Refuge and Rehabilitation Centre which also offers a safe house and Trauma Centre with trained psychologists and counsellors to help survivors overcome their traumatic experiences. CCN is determined not only to provide services to survivors but also to bring child abusers to justice and actively pursues legal cases against them. Post rehabilitation we aim to return children to their families as our primary goal. If this is not possible we provide long term care, including education and training to enable the children to become self-sufficient adults.

Job Description

ChoraChori Nepal are currently searching for a candidate looking for an exciting challenge. The role is to provide assistance to the Operational Director and to conduct extensive and independent field visits throughout India and Nepal for purposes such as rescue, family reunification and to conduct socio-economic family assessments. The successful candidate must display great flexibility and a willingness to travel at short notice and spend a significant percentage of their time in the field. They must also be able to produce regular reports and liaise with relevant government offices and authorities both in Nepal and India.

Although the role is very challenging it is also an exciting opportunity for a candidate looking for the chance to change the lives of trafficked and displaced children. The candidate will be instrumental in repatriating children and reuniting them with their families, an extremely rewarding opportunity. 

  • To provide assistance to the Operational Director, often at short notice
  • Conduct extensive and independent field visits to India and all over Nepal for purposes such as rescue, family reunification, and assessment of socio-economic and general family status of children
  • Undertake regular reviews of children and conduct follow ups
  • Prepare assessment reports, monthly and quarterly reports and submit them on time
  • Able to live in remote areas under basic circumstances and work closely with a small team
  • Basic awareness of child psychology, child development and able to communicate well with children
  • Liaise with government offices, authorities and organisations in India and Nepal and maintain good professional relationships
