REUNITING CHILDREN IN FAMILIES
The Himalayan Innovative Society (THIS), established in 2003, is a non-governmental organization working closely with the Nepal Government in the family reintegration of children rescued from vulnerable child care institutions in Nepal. We work in communities to prevent family-child separation through community awareness informing the psychological harms of child institutionalization, educating parents and strengthening gatekeeping system in Nepal.
We have supported over 1000 children directly and indirectly through our various projects since 2003.
We have a transitional care center in Kathmandu, where children rescued by Nepal Government from vulnerable child care institutions are rehabilitated for a temporary period, healed, and prepared for family reunification.
We seek amazing and passionate Social Workers to join our team.

Objective: The main objective of this position is to reunite permanently separated families. The Reintegration Officer is responsible to work on developing and implementing efficient strategies towards the goal of reintegrating the trafficked and displaced children within their communities, with their families when circumstance permits it.

The post holder will be required to work more than 70 % his working hours in fields which could be mostly outside Kathmandu valley. Priority will be given to Ethnic minority, Dalit and male interested candidates who have willingness to travel all over Nepal for frequent field visit.
