Job Description

Contract type: Permanent

Annual Gross Salary:   Approximately NPR 2,437,500 (Salary fitment would be based on the qualifications, experience and the current profile of the selected candidate)

The role

  • You will ensure that the learning from VSO programming is captured and used to promote pro poor policy and that the voices of impoverished and marginalized people are heard in national and international policy fora.
  • Championing effective people first advocacy, you’ll lead the development and implementation of an effective advocacy and policy strategy in the region. That means working with a team across VSO to promote and support advocacy integration into programmes.  You will be creating alliances and partnerships and raise VSO’s profile as a distinct policy actor in the region to influence greater impact and bring long lasting changes to the lives of poor people. 

The applicant 

  • Significant policy advocacy experience at national and international levels. 
  • Experience in development programming at community level. 
  • The ability to design, carry out, support, edit and write up research of publishable quality for policy advocacy purposes. 
  • Experience in implementing global advocacy programmes, including supporting people throughout the system to participate in joined up North-South advocacy.
