  • Minimum 2 years of  experience in a management role in human trafficking, child protection, or human rights programs
  • Experience in designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating child protection/anti-trafficking/child rights programs in emergency, transition or development contexts.
  • Knowledge of established standards and guidelines in child protection in Nepal, child welfare systems and government organizations; existing working relationships a plus
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, institutional donors and experience of developing proposals a plus
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A high level of written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Ability and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances

Job Description

Project Description: Anti-Child Trafficking Project Thulo Paila 

Reports to: Sano Paila Chief Executive Officer, Head Office, Birgunj, Parsa, Nepal

Purpose of Position: Leadership and direction of child protection and anti-child trafficking project as appropriate, including:

  • Research and intelligence gathering of information and allegations of child trafficking, forced child labor, or abduction or kidnapping of children for the purpose of exploitation
  • Reporting and case management of complaints brought by families, individuals, or allied organizations of child trafficking or child labor
  • Lead the team’s collection, documentation, preparation, and presentation of evidence and reports to government authorities and police
  • Oversight of legal advice, reporting, and court filing to assure continuing attention and action
  • Manage and lead child rescue planning and rescues with appropriate government authorities and partners
  • Primary Care, Children’s Receiving Home, and Reintegration project activities in compliance with Sano Paila requirements
  • Capacity Building in compliance with Sano Paila requirements
  • Representation & Advocacy & Organizational Learning in compliance with Sano Paila requirements:

​Other Responsibilities: 

  • Management of Kathmandu-based team, projects, and activities.
  • Management of HR processes
  • Management of budgeting, financial processes, and reporting, in cooperation with team accountant/financial controller
  • Must be dependable in arriving for work on time, and must be willing to work extra hours according to the needs of the situation/mission
  • Must undergo a background investigation and reference check prior to employment
