About the Project: Plan International Nepal is sub-contractor of the Nepal EGRP, funded by USAID, in consortium led by RTI International. The project aims to address the reading gap among the youngest learners by supporting the government of Nepal, school, parents and communities to bring improvements in Early Grade Reading in Nepali languages. Plan International Nepal’s role in consortium is to lead the community mobilization and support activities, which will build capacity of parents and community organizations to help their children learn to read. The project is implementing in 16 districts of Nepal.
Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for management of activities under Intermediate Result 3 (Increased Family and Community support) for project at regional level. S/he will coordinate and facilitate understanding on the importance of children reading in their language of understanding among parents and communities, as well as engage parents and community-based organizations in evidence-based practices to support young readers. S/he will mainly guide the regional team in supporting community level organizations, district education committees, and local grant recipient NGOs for the effective implementation of EGR activities in communities and schools.
Term and Location: Fixed term employment till 31 December 2019 based in and co-located at RTI/EGRP Regional Office, Itahari, Sunsari.
