Working with media and communication to help reduce poverty and support people in claiming their rights, our aim is to inform, connect and empower people around the world. BBC Media Action has been working on communication for development projects in Nepal since 2007, giving us a well-developed understanding of Nepali audiences and significant experience of producing and evaluating media content on a range of issues to diverse target audiences. Our work in Nepal focuses on health, governance, resilience, humanitarian preparedness and response with strong gender commitments and focus.
BBC Media Action is working on a project funded by FCDO titled “Supporting girls’ education and a safe return to school through the power of media and communication”. The project aims to develop and broadcast media content and support improved social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) to support girls’ education; a safe home learning environment while schools are closed and a safe return to school across communities in Nepal, providing guidance and support that would otherwise not be available.
We are looking for a qualified and competent individual to work on the capacity of Radio Producer for the given project.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Producer, the Radio Producer will be responsible for scripting and presenting the programme, producing reports and case studies from the field and putting forward ideas and treatments in editorial meetings for themes to cover that directly address issues of girls’ education. The radio producer will also be responsible for recognising the needs of the Nepali audience to use a varied range of radio techniques to pass on information to the audience in an engaging way.
