Job Overview:

The Quality Control Manager for the Highway Project will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for the highway construction project. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring quality management systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in highway construction, a strong understanding of QA/QC processes, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Development of Quality Assurance Plan (QAP):

  • Draft, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) tailored to the specific requirements of the express highway project.
  •  Ensure alignment of the QAP with relevant industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.

2. Quality Control Procedures: 

  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures for all phases of the express highway project, from planning and design to construction and completion.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess compliance with quality control procedures and standards.

3. Inspection and Testing Coordination:

  • Coordinate and oversee inspection and testing activities to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and third party inspectors to schedule and conduct inspections and tests as per project requirements.

4. Document Control:

  •  Implement a robust document control system to manage all quality related documentation, including inspection reports, test results, non conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of quality control activities for future reference and audit purposes.

5. Non Conformance Management:

  • Identify and document instances of non conformance with quality standards or specifications.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address non conformance issues and prevent recurrence.

6. Supplier and Vendor Quality Management:

  • Evaluate the quality performance of suppliers and vendors and establish criteria for their selection and qualification.
  • Monitor and review supplier and vendor performance to ensure adherence to quality requirements and standards.

7. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of project deliverables.
  • Analyse data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

8. Training and Development:

  • Provide training and guidance to project personnel on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability among project team members.

9. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and internal management, regarding quality related matters.
  • Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

10. Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and standards governing quality management in express highway construction projects.
  •  Stay updated on changes to regulations and industry best practices related to quality control and incorporate them into project processes as needed.

11. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks to quality and develop strategies to mitigate them proactively.
  • Collaborate with project teams to anticipate and address quality related risks throughout the project lifecycle. 

12. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality control and provide regular reports to project management on performance trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
