Established in August 2014, Himalaya Airlines is a Nepal - China joint venture, providing international air services. As the name ‘Himalaya’ symbolizes high mountains of Nepal, dedicated in service to uplift the name of the nation, Himalaya Airlines aspires to rise up in its name to international standards. With the aim to excel in safety, on time performance (OTP) and most primarily, in service to its customers, H9 has already established itself in Nepal with high recognition.

Presently H9 operates to five destinations - Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur. The airline proudly owns a young fleet of 3 Airbus A320-214 series of narrow-body aircraft with the configuration of 8 Premium Economy class & 150 Economy class seats. For year 2019, the airline plans to focus on China connectivity by adding up Beijing to its destination network and eventually extending to other cities like Nanchang, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanning etc. Airline also has plans to acquire A319 for flying to high altitude destinations like Lhasa.

H9 received its first international award for “Leading New International Airlines in South Asia” at South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2017. This award honors the efforts undertaken towards developing high standard of services and expanding network and has given a tremendous boost to H9 family to excel further and rise higher in the aviation sector.

Himalaya Airlines’ in-flight entertainment system offers passengers with latest blockbuster movies, music, TV shows and documentaries etc. Passengers flying with Himalaya Airlines can also spend their quality time reading through the in-flight magazine – Danfe. Following the genuine Nepalese tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava” – Guest is God, H9 strives to provide true Nepali Hospitality to its esteemed passengers.

Job Description

Department : Maintenance & Engineering

About job:

  • Perform liaison functions with Regulatory Authorities and other local and foreign governmental agencies in all matters concerning the quality and airworthiness of the company’s services.
  • Monitor the maintenance and inspection programs to assure continuing compliance with NCAR Part M regulations or all applicable regulations and in accordance with Approved Maintenance Program. Prepare and distribute Audit Plans of all maintenance activities, out stations, and A/C.

Key Accountability:

  • He/ She will be responsible for the control of deviation from the organization procedures and conducts investigations related to internal occurrences
  • Initiate Quality Assurance Directives to conduct specific inspections of Aircraft
  • Distribute audits, investigation reports & quality assurance orders to appropriate section heads, to assure appropriate corrective action is taken by sections concerned
  • Carry out any other assignment as directed by Accountable Manager
  • Update Accountable Manager on audit findings and corrective actions
  • Follow up, coordination, and control of the progress of remedial actions
  • Ensure functions related to the QA program are performed by appropriately independent qualified QA auditors. Ensure that sufficient QA Staff resources are available to perform the required Auditing Program
  • Auditing, monitoring and control of each maintenance Organization that performs maintenance for HIMALAYA Airlines
  • Ensuring that the Quality System required by Part M.A.712 is effective in its application and any follow up actions required addressing findings are completed
  • Organize and carry out Surveillance and Inspection of maintenance activities during Line and Base Maintenance of aircraft
  • Grant approval for concessions/ extensions on the basis of CAAN Approved Maintenance Program
  • Report all Major defects, Incidents and Accidents to the Airworthiness Office (MOR submission to CAAN)
  • Ensure preservation of all maintenance documents as required by NCAR Part M
  • To ensure that entries in the logbooks are made properly and maintained up-to date.
  • Periodic review of ATL should be ensured
