Roles and responsibilities of this job

To provide advanced level Psycho Educational Counseling to individuals and groups, particularly in academic, career, and emotional development. The Senior Counselor will supervise junior counselors, contribute to program development, and ensure adherence to best practices in psychological care and education-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students, adolescents, or clients facing academic, social, or emotional difficulties.
Develop and implement psycho-educational workshops, seminars, and outreach programs.
Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results to support academic planning or behavioral interventions.
Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to create effective support plans for clients.
Maintain detailed and confidential case records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
Supervise and mentor junior counselors and interns.
Participate in curriculum development and contribute to training modules for psycho-educational programming.
Stay updated on recent developments in counseling psychology, mental health education, and child/adolescent development.
Contribute to research and data analysis related to counseling outcomes and psychological well-being.

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Education:

Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
Ph.D. or M.Phil. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (preferred for senior-level).
Certification or license from a recognized psychological/counseling body

Experience:

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in psycho-educational counseling.
Proven track record in academic and behavioral counseling, preferably in an institutional or academic setting.
Experience in supervising mental health professionals or interns is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of psychometric tools and assessment techniques.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic diversity.
Proficient in documentation, reporting, and ethical case handling.

Desirable:

Experience in working with neurodivergent individuals (e.g., ADHD, Autism Spectrum).
Publication or research experience in psycho-educational or clinical psychology.
