Call for Consultancy Services
For experienced and dedicated professionals with passion for project development 

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal
Duration: Short term (7 to 15 days)

Agriterra Nepal is looking for short term consultant to support the country team in proposal preparation. As a consultant, you will be responsible for drafting concept notes and project proposals for potential donors, for which you need to perform different tasks, like:  primary and secondary research, needs assessment, meeting with stakeholder, project log frame designing. Moreover, you will also look into the emerging economic development concepts of EU and US based donors including; private foundations, bilateral and multilateral organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Research and information collection

• Conduct desk research on cooperatives and agribusiness policies, legal framework and government priority for agricultural development.
• Get familiar with Agriterra’s Theory of Change and articulate its contribution in the agriculture and cooperative development in Nepal.
• Conduct needs assessment of the Agriterra’s clients (cooperatives) and define those priorities in the project proposals.
• Meet with national and international stakeholders and converge the collected information in the project vision.

2. Proposals and Concept note preparation: 

• In collaboration with Agriterra Nepal’s staffs take lead role in designing project framework for targeted donors.
• Develop project goals, activities and deliverables in coordination with technical staffs of Agriterra Nepal and head office
• Take lead role in writing project concept notes and proposals, and facilitate in the submission of project documents

Your profile

• A master’s degree or above in business, agriculture or development studies. 
• At least five years of experience in senior management position in European or American I/NGOs.
• Sound understanding of relevant (European or American) donor portfolio’s and their requirements
• Hands on experience in writing project proposals and concept notes 
• Excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills, flexible, cultural sensitive. 
• Open mind with a supportive/service-oriented attitude.
