POURAKHI Nepal is an NGO of women migrant workers, was established in 2003 with the objective of ensuring the right of women migrant workers in the entire process of foreign labor migration; namely through pre-employment, pre-departure, employment and post arrival support programs. Advocacy at policy level and policy reformation are also major focus.

Pourakhi Nepal is one of the Implementing Partners of ILO Nepal for implementing “Work in Freedom” (WIF) since 2014, aiming to reduce vulnerability to forced labour and labour trafficking by supporting mobility by choice among women and girls from South Asian countries of origin (e.g. India, Bangladesh and Nepal), more accountable recruitment pathways and better jobs with safety and dignity of workers in destination countries (e.g. India, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait) through multi-sectoral policy measures. 

In this regard, Pourakhi Nepal is seeking a candidate with the required qualifications and competencies to apply for this position.

Project: Repair and reconstruction of houses in three earthquake affected districts of Nepal

Partner: Caritas Luxembourg/CRAterre/ASF Nepal

 

Contract Period: March, 2017 to May, 2019

 

Duty Station: Based at Dolakha/Dhading/Rasuwa

 

Report to: M & E Specialist

 

Job Purpose:

Project Officer will be responsible for overall project management at assigned District. She/he will be in close coordination with District based project staffs, District level concerned stakeholders for effective implementation of project and provide progress report to Monitoring and evaluation specialist on Monthly Basis.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

Program Management (Social & Technical):

  • Day to Day Management of all activities conducted in District and site
  • Implement social and technical guidelines developed by project
  • Supervise and support all Social and technical activities conducted at site
  • Follow work plan and capture progress of activities

Administration/Logistic & Material management:

  • Conduct Monthly staff meeting at site
  • Day to day records of staff attendance, leave and movement on separate file
  • Ability to dispute management. Keep records of visitors check in and check out
  • Logistic arrangement of Project team members, Representatives from partners organizations
  • Proper arrangement and management of required materials need to purchase for site/activities management

Coordination & Networking:

  • Close coordination with Technical advisor, site supervisor and Senior social mobilizer for effective implementation of all planned activities at site as well as District
  • Regular coordination and consultation with site level, village level and District level concerned stakeholders
  • Participate in community level , District level meetings and also shared our project progress
  • Network development with existing network in the society at site level, village level and District level

Documentation & Report:

  • Collect Monthly Plan , progress and relevant data from Technical Advisor, site supervisor and senior social Mobilizer
  • Compile all data and reports in proper format and send to Monitoring and Evaluation specialist on monthly basis
  • Develop specific format or short report as per need of project
  • Prepare case story, short video and Pictures of Activities

Required Qualification and experience:

  • S/he has Master Degree in Social science/any discipline with at least 3 years of work experience in Development sector/NGO/INGOs
  • S/he has good communication, Documentation skills for Team Management with computer skills 
  • Knowledge of Ms Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentation 
  • Should have two wheeler driving license 
  • Fluency in spoken and written in English and Nepali languages
