Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing civil construction projects from inception to completion. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

2. Budget and Cost Management:

Prepare and manage project budgets.
Monitor project costs and ensure they remain within budget.

3. Schedule Management:

Develop and maintain project schedules.
Ensure timely completion of project milestones.

4. Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all construction activities comply with quality standards and regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.

5. Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Address and resolve any issues that arise during the project.

6. Team Management:

Lead and manage the project team, including subcontractors and laborers.
Provide guidance and support to team members.

7. Communication and Reporting:

Maintain regular communication with stakeholders.
Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.

8. Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
Promote a culture of safety on the construction site.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 10 years

Other Specification

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Hydro Power or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).

Experience:

Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in civil construction hydropower project management with at least 2 projects with complete handover from initial phase.
Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects involving basement, foundation works, electrification, and mechanical.

Skills:

Project Management: Strong skills in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and managing construction projects.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
Leadership: Ability to lead and manage construction teams effectively.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, or other construction design software.
Understanding of construction safety regulations and quality standards.

Personal Attributes:

Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected challenges.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Work Environment:

This position will require working on-site at construction locations with no time boundaries.
The role may involve occasional travel to project sites and meetings.

Ankhu Hydropower Project is run of river type project located at Ree, Darkha and Jharlang VDCs of Dhading. It has design discharge of 24 m3/s, gross head of 215 m and installed capacity of 42.9 MW. The average annual energy generation of the project is 227GWh. The energy generated from the project is evacuated through a 25 km long 132 kV transmission line to NEA substation at Nuwakot. The project has already signed grid connection agreement and process of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is in progress.
