About the project: The gender transformative and nutrition sensitive WASH” is 5 years multi-country  program that will contribute to attaining the Sustainable Development Goal 6. The envisioned impact of the overall programme is to improve the position of women and adolescent girls by giving them leading roles in the process to sustainably improve access to sanitation facilities and hygiene practices.This programme has been proposed to be implemented in the Central and Eastern Region of Nepal and will be funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for providing leadership in the coordination and delivery of Netherlands Government funded gender transformative and nutrition sensitive WASH Programme. She/he will be responsible for implementation and reporting of the Programme in line with the approved project proposal, detail Implementation plan (DIP) and Fund Agreement Documents, following the country strategy of Plan International Nepal. She/he will be responsible for the high quality and timely delivery of the project according to the objectives and approach described in the proposal and contract documents and to the satisfaction of project stakeholders.

 

Term and Location: Fixed term employment for 5 years based in Country Office, Lalitpur.

 

Required qualifications & experiences: 

  • Master’s degree in social science/Development studies or community development/ water, sanitation and hygiene or other relevant disciplines
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the area of gender transformative and nutrition sensitive community-based water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Project management experience in donor funded WASH projects
  • Experience in gender transformative and nutrition sensitive programming is an added advantage
  • I/NGO work experience preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the project team and manage the project interventions, development of technical tools with adequate consultation and participation of staff and other key stakeholders at all stages of project implementation.
  • Develop and review 5-year project operational plan, annual and quarterly plans and budgets for effective project implementation.
  • Establish and consult with partners and project stakeholders and ensure their adequate participation including of concerned thematic technical coordinators at Country Office and Field Offices, and Program Support Manager at all stages of project implementation.
  • Establish and manage partnerships including ensuring effectiveness, economize and efficient utilization of resource and assume accountability.
  • Prepare and share quality periodic project reports as per donor requirements and project document.
  • Develop a system for capturing, documenting and disseminating project experiences, achievements, lesson learnt and best practice to stakeholders while maintaining project records for accountability purposes.
  • Ensure integration of other themes including resilience as relevant.
