Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Project Manager - Hydropower is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring, and closing hydropower projects within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

Lead end-to-end development and execution of hydropower projects.
Develop project plans, schedules, resource allocation plans, and budgets.
Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to milestones.
Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.

Contract & Stakeholder Management:

Manage EPC, civil works, electro-mechanical, and transmission line contracts.
Coordinate with government agencies, regulatory authorities, local communities, and project stakeholders.
Review contractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.

Budget & Cost Control:

Prepare and manage project budgets.
Monitor project expenditures and cash flow.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and control project overruns.

Risk Management:

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Address technical, environmental, social, and regulatory challenges.
Ensure business continuity and project delivery objectives are achieved.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE):

Ensure compliance with project quality standards.
Implement health, safety, and environmental policies.
Monitor safety performance and corrective actions.

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
Maintain project documentation and records.
Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and key decisions.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 10 years

Required Age:More than 45 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree will be an added advantage).
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in hydropower, infrastructure, energy, or large-scale construction projects.
At least 5 years of experience in a Project Manager, Construction Manager, or similar leadership role.
Proven experience managing hydropower projects from the feasibility, construction, and commissioning stages.
Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, contractor management, project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and reporting systems.
