Americares, an international non-governmental organization registered in the US, has been working in Nepal immediately after Gorkha earthquake in field of health sector recovery, HSS, MHPSS and DRR.

Improving Maternal and Newborn Health (IMANh) is a project that Americares is going to implement in 2 rural municipalities (Khandadevi & Gokulganga) of Ramechhap district in partnership of local NGO-CHURDEP and in close collaboration with MoHP, DHO Ramechhap, local health facilities and rural-municipalities. Americares is seeking a competent, qualified and dynamic person for the position of Project Coordinator for its IMANh project in Ramechhap.

Job Description

REPORTS TO: Country Director
DURATION OF POSITION: 18 months full-time with possibility of extension

The CPCB Project Manager will:

  • Liaise with Ministry, District, and VDC level authorities on a regular basis to ensure program is aligned with and follows Nepal government guidelines.
  • Liaise with international and local program partners throughout the life cycle of the project to ensure program development follows program objectives.
  • Represent the project at the Mental Health Cluster and Psychosocial Working Group meetings
  • Support and supervise 2 District Project Coordinators (DPC) through weekly program status meetings.
  • Monitor and report on budget and logistical needs.
  • Review data compiled by the 2 DPCs and synthesize quantitative and qualitative program metrics.
  • Send weekly reports to HQ outlining program development, progress, and challenges.
  • Liaise with and contribute to existing MHPSS SOP Working Group to create a sustainable MHPSS infrastructure in 6 of the 14 affected Districts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five years’ experience managing complex, multi-district programs in post-disaster situations, requiring liaising with numerous stakeholders on government and community levels.
  • Proficiency in English required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, international development, social work or psychology preferred.
  • Extensive Logistical, Financial, and Managerial Experience.
  • Experience liaising with national stakeholders and INGOs in regards to MHPSS thematic issues.
