As we serve the people of Nepal, multicultural teams of Nepali and expatriate volunteer staff work alongside local organisations in eight districts (six clusters and two hospitals), building partnerships that lead to healthy, dignified and empowered individuals and transformed communities.
Position: Project Manager-Resilient Livelihoods (CLIMATES Project) (Woman only)
Required No.:1 (Doti District)
The main purpose of this position is to lead and ensure the successful implementation of the Climate Change Impacts Mitigation & Adaptation for Environmental Sustainability (CLIMATES) Project and to contribute to the UMN Doti Cluster strategy through effective capacity-building relationship-building project management, and providing technical expertise.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's Degree in Environmental Science/Climate Change/Sustainable Development/ Agriculture/Forestry/Social Science with three years of working experience in integrated project management with a particular focus on climate change impact mitigation and adaptation OR Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science/Climate Change/Sustainable Development/Agriculture/ Forestry/Social Science with five years of working experience in integrated project management with particular focus on climate change impact mitigation and adaptation
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the issues of environmental sustainability. climate change adaptation, mitigation, DRR and resilience livelihoods in the context of rural Nepal
Strong skills and experience in project management, including design, planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and developing concept notes and proposals Knowledge in working experience on integrated project management and participatory bottom-up project designing
Familiar with up-to-date poverty eradication strategies, environment/climate change policies, and development practices in Nepal and internationally
Experience and managing projects through a local partner organisation
Skill and strategy in coordination, rapport building and networking with local and district stakeholders
Experience in working in remote areas in cross-cultural environments and diversified contexts
Excellent communication skills in written and verbal in English and Nepal
