KOSHISH is a non-governmental self-help organization registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu in 2008 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council. KOSHISH is a right-based organization working extensively in advocacy in and multi-disciplinary and holistic mental health and psychosocial support in Nepal. In addition, KOSHISH is also working in system strengthening and creating a model that the government and other stakeholders may able to replicate.

Background Of The Project:

Mainstreaming Mental Health and Psychosocial Disability in Nepal" project focuses on integrating mental health services into primary health care in reference to Community Mental Health model and empowerment of the persons with psychosocial disability through Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) model of World Health Organization (WHO) in Tanahun district, of Gandaki Province. The overall objective of the project is: “Persons with psychosocial disabilities obtain mental health services from integrated primary health service in Tanahun district.

Objective Of The Evaluation:

To assess the progress made towards achievement of the objectives of the project, its expected results, outcome and impact provide recommendations for further project development based on the findings.

Scope:

The evaluation shall cover Byas municipality, Bhimad and Magyad municipality of Tanahu district, District Hosptial Tanahu, Self-Help Groups, project team and partner.

Requird Qualification Of The Independent Consultant:

  • Proven experience in evaluations, including 3 years of working experience in carrying out evaluations
  • At least a master’s degree in any social science, preferably including public health, disability or social research
  • At least three years of work experience on community mental health, disability inclusion and inclusive development
  • Knowledge of evaluation of multi-year project activities and familiarity with the Theory of Change technique
  • Knowledge on international and national laws, policies and practices on community mental health, disability and inclusive development
  • Knowledge on government health system, inclusive system strengthening and local governance in the context of Nepal 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with local government, staff and other stakeholders
  • Good command on mass interaction as FGD 
  • Sound knowledge of MS word, Excel, SPSS and other relevant software
  • Proficiency in English & Nepali
  • Ability to travel to remote areas in the project districts
  • Excellent documentation & presentation skills including analytical and report writing skills
