Role overview
With experience of working with young people in an international development context, managing projects at a community level, the Youth Project Coordinator will be responsible for effective ICS project delivery by supporting Team Leaders, partners, host homes and volunteers through pastoral support, guidance on project implementation and ensuring safety, security and welfare processes in the project implementation community.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
International Development: Knowledge of issues which are common to communities in developing countries, possibly achieved through working or living in a developing country. Experience of promoting learning about development issues.
Communication: Possession of strong verbal communication to work effectively and inclusively with an overseas colleague. Excellent communications in English and local languages.
Supervision: Significant experience of working in a supervisory role. Proven ability to promote self-awareness, learning and development among individuals.
Organization and Problem Solving: Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a complex and fast changing environment, work on own initiative and problem solving with solution focus.
Flexibility: To adapt to new situations, with a positive attitude to working in an international organization. Able to travel occasionally and spend time away from base and home.

Desirable
Volunteering: Sufficient experience of working with volunteers to understand the key factors which make volunteer placements viable, effective and rewarding.
NGO Experience : Experience working with international NGO.
Programme Design and Evaluation: Experience of designing and evaluating youth programmes in an international context. Experience of using monitoring and evaluation tools and processes.
