Project Coordinator for Kamlahari Higher Education Support Project-1 Position

About the Project: The project is mainly focused for former Kamlahari girls of Kanchanpur,Kailali and Dang districts for improving access to and completion of higher education.

Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for implementation, monitoring and reporting of all activities implemented through this Project. S/he will ensure that the SLC graduated ex-Kamlahari girls will have access to and complete higher education and the girls will be ready to enter the job market. In close coordination with District Education Office, S/he manages and implements higher education scholarship grants through direct partnership between Plan International Nepal, respective institution / colleges and SLC graduated ex – Kamlahari girl.
Terms and Location: Fixed term employment till 30th November 2016 with high possibility of extension based in Banke Program Unit.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  •     At least Master’s Degree in Education or relevant field.
  •     At least 3(three) years of practical experience in child rights or educational projects working with children.
  •     Good communication and presentation skill in English, Nepali and relevant local languages.
  •     Knowledge on educational planning process at district and national level.
  •     Familiar with government scholarship scheme, policies and guidelines.
  •     Preferred I/NGO experience working with Kamlahari girls.

Key Responsibilities:

  •     Overall responsible for project implementation, monitoring and reporting of activities as outline in project proposal and detailed implementation plan
  •     Close monitoring, consulting and counselling to scholarship received girls to provide necessary support required to prepare them to succeed in examinations.
  •     Provide consultancy services for job market and link them with possible employers or setting up alumni network.
  •     Organize empowerment training to the Kamlahari girls for their future career development.
  •     Manage and coordinate the project activities with other components of Plan’s Education program.
  •     Establish, liaise , coordinate and maintain good relationship with  government stakeholders and partner organisations.
  •     Monitor and maintain the data of the scholarship awards, their recipients and educational achievements.
  •     Timely and quality delivery of reports/information as and when required.
