Women for Human Rights, single women group (WHR) based in Nepal is a leading NGO established in 1995, specializing in advocacy and empowerment of women's rights with a core focus on Single women’s in Nepal and the South Asia region. WHR is one of the founding members and the secretariat office for SANWED (South Asian Network of Widows Empowerment in Development). WHR works for values and principles of non-discrimination, respect and dignity, equity for equality, justice, inclusion, unity in diversity, cooperation, transparency and accountability.

  •  At least five years work experience in the similar role preferably working at managerial level. Experience in working in grants funded project in the sector of women rights and/ or human rights, humanitarian response and early recovery.
  • Conceptual understanding on right based approach, feminist principles, gender equality and diversity and strong analytical skill; capacity to lead and mobilize human resource, skills in planning and execution of campaign activities; skill to lobby and advocacy, coordination and networking, and facilitation; good writing skill in both Nepali and English; and can work in stressful situations, for long hours and during off days, when it requires; ability to establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization; sensitive and responsive towards issues related to gender and disaster.

Job Description

  • Effective planning, implementing and managing multi sectoral project activities at relief, recovery and rehabilitation phases of Plan’s Humanitarian response programme in the assigned area
  • Take leadership to facilitate and work with program team members for establishment and operation of Safe Spaces from women's rights perspective
  • He/ She will also ensure project compliance including good visibility plan, coordination networking, liaison with concerned government officials and stakeholders.
  • She/he will lead the technical project team and manage project interventions, development of technical tools with adequate consultation and participation of the team and other stakeholders at all stage of project implementation.
  • She/he is also responsible for timely reporting of the donor reports required

Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent visit to programme area
