National Indigenous Women’s Federation (NIWF) is an umbrella organization of 49 Indigenous Women (IW) organizations. This non- profitmaking organization has been working in the field of indigenous women mainly focusing on indigenous women’s human rights, land rights, identity, against the indigenous women’s violence, advocacy, research, publication and promotion of indigenous knowledge and skills to achieve the collective mission of indigenous women.

Job Title: Project Coordinator (1)
Location: Kathmandu with frequent field visit
Salary: As per organization rule
Job Type: Full Time

Project Coordinator (PC) will provide overall leadership and supervision in project implementation, ensuring the donor compliances, documentation of the project outcomes, monitoring, evaluation and learning. PC will maintain regular coordination, communication with project team and enhance the capacity of filed staff on project interventions.

Major Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Lead the project implementation as a first contact of the project and ensure effective and efficient execution of project activities on time.
  • Provide overall leadership in project cycle management. Supervise development and execution of project implementation plan, monitoring and evaluation process, ensuring the programmatic and financial compliance.
  • Prepare periodic project narrative reports and submit to funding agency before the deadlines set for.
  • Conduct field visits with appropriate tools and checklists, including interaction/consultation with beneficiaries to learn about program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the process and initiate monitoring interventions to achieve project activities according to the action plan.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Social Science, Social Work, Gender/Women Studies, Development Studies, Community Development, Sociology, or related field.

Work experience and competencies

  • 5 years of experience in project planning, implementation, particularly working with women, youths, and indigenous community.
  • Previous working experience on Gender Based Violence, climate change and indigenous people rights.
  • Good in community mobilization with sound coordination and communication skills.
  • Experience of providing capacity building, training and orientations of diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple task, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Work with program teams to ensure that reports are delivered according to project and donor contractual requirements, within the agreed timescale and budget.
  • Previous experience in donor funded project management, monitoring and evaluation as well as reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player with proven communication and
  • diplomacy with the ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
