In 2023, KfW commemorated 60 years of Financial Cooperation with Nepal. Currently, KfW's efforts in Nepal focus on two key sectors: health and energy. The country office is situated at Neer Bhawan Marg, Sanepa, Lalitpur.

Objectives of the Position:

  • To support the office in efficient office management and providing professional support in the implementation of the projects in Nepal.

Scope of Work: Managing finance and administrative tasks at KfW Kathmandu office currently with 4 staff members.

  • Manage general day -to-day office administrative activities.
      • Maintaining all vouchers and book of accounts for the office including the bookkeeping tasks:
      • Arrange all logistics necessary for the smooth functioning of the office.
      • Maintain HR related records.
      • Manage all service contracts concluded by KfW Kathmandu Office.
      • Assist in preparing annual and monthly budget.
      • Handle all office payments including staff salary, travel settlement, tax deposition, rental payments, and others.
      • Prepare country situational report from time to time reflecting the country’s economic and political environment.
  • IT Support
      • Managing office IT functioning with support from with IT consultants and the IT Department of KfW’s Headquarter.
      • Promptly communicate with IT at KfW-Frankfurt, on IT related issues and facilitate in resolving these.
  • Providing professional inputs to the KfW Office team in coordinating the financial cooperation projects in Nepal
      • Assist the Local Portfolio Coordinators in their respective project in the energy and health sector and develop expertise in the sectors including gender, environmental and social safeguards.
      • Participate in meetings and prepare meeting notes / minutes of meetings.
  • Providing support in preparation of visits/missions from Headquarters.
  • Assist Head of Office in the day-to-day operations of the Kathmandu Office. 

Note :  Any other work as deemed necessary and as directed by the Head of Office.

Duration and Timeline:

  • This is a long-term position. The incumbent will first be given an initial contract of 2 years that can be transformed in an unlimited contract.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Candidate must have Master degree in management or related fields from a recognized university.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Excellent networking skills with an ability to work with cross-cultural teams.
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience (but not more than 7 years) is required.

Reporting Requirements: 

  • The incumbent shall report to the Head of KfW Office Kathmandu.
