ChildSafeNet, a non-profit non-government organization is looking for a Programme Officer.
The Programme Officer is a key staff member of the organization. S/he will be responsible for developing, planning and timely implementation of programmes for protection of children and young people online, in alignment with ChildSafeNet's strategies and policies. His/her responsibilities also includes leading cyber safety research studies, training programmes and awareness campaigns. S/he will work with ChildSafeNet's partners and collaborators, representing the organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop programme concepts and project proposals in coordination with the line manager
- Ensure that the ChildSafeNet's programme builds on and generates evidence to influence scaling up of the programme
- Ensure programme activities are delivered effectively and in timely manner
- Provide technical support in designing and development of inclusive and quality programme strategy
- Ensure effective project monitoring by taking necessary corrective actions that are being followed up and reviewed periodically
- Identify, assess, and communicate risks associated with the implementation of project, and development of mitigation measures
- Ensure that ChildSafeNet’s contractual obligations with partners on project targets and deliverables are met in a timely manner
- Make regular programme reviews and provide feedback to the line manager
- Ensure that periodic quantitative and qualitative reports are submitted in time to partners and funding organizations
- Develop, adopt and use training manuals and guidelines
- Facilitate training, workshop and orientation programmes
- Organize capacity building programmes for partner organizations on cyber safety for children and young people
- Develop and lead cyber safety awareness campaigns using applicable media channels, including digital media
- Develop and lead research studies on cyber safety for children and young people
- Network and
build relationships with government bodies, national/international
organizations, media, child/youth/parents groups and private sector
- Lead evidence-based lobby and advocacy
- Ensure timely planning, monitoring and submission of reports to the line manager
Academic Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's
degree with minimum two years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated project implementation experience in a small multi-disciplined team, preferably in the field of child protection
Technical Knowledge
- Good knowledge on child rights, child protection, protection of children online and gender issues in Nepal
- Good knowledge on online risks for children and young people, particularly on cyber crimes such as online sexual abuse and exploitation and cyber bullying
- An interest in new technology and children’s rights, and familiarity with current digital trends, popular internet services and applications used by children and young people
Project Management
- Significant experience in project management – planning, operation, implementation, monitoring and reporting
- Effective team leadership and/or line management experience
- Experience of financial and budget management (including setting, monitoring and reporting on team and/or project budgets)
- Sound knowledge & skills on project risk analysis and management
- Good understanding on donor reporting system and ability to prepare quality donor reports
- Skills to analyse project progress data and incorporate in the report
- Report writing skills for developing monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Capacity Building
- Sound skills in training need assessment process and tools
- Demonstrated track record in developing and conducting training for children and young people, preferably with use of child and young people-friendly methods
- Experience in in building capacities of project staff and partners
Research Studies
- Experience in conducting conceptualizing and conducting social research studies, particularly with children and young people
- Ability to analyze data and prepare research reports
Advocacy and Networking
- Experience in conducting social awareness campaigns, preferably including the use of social media
- Skills on stakeholders mapping and mobilization for broader benefit of the project
- Good skills on facilitation of meeting
- Excellent presentation skills in English and Nepali
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Skills on preparation of monitoring and evaluation plan
- Knowledge on using results-based monitoring tools
- Ability to develop project trackers to maintain up-to-date database on project progress

- Strong IT skills in using key applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and preferably in managing social media and web site
