We are seeking a dynamic individual with exceptional communication and coordination skills to lead and implement digital data collection and drone-based house numbering projects in Janakpur and Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan Cities. The ideal candidate will have experience in e-governance projects and be capable of managing field teams, liaising with local authorities, and ensuring the successful execution of the project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Design and Coordination:

  • Design project activities in close coordination with the project management team at NAXA
  • Travel to both project locations (Janakpur and Birgunj) to oversee and manage project activities.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local governments and stakeholders.

Team Management:

  • Hire and manage a local data fellow to implement all project activities properly.
  • Mobilize the entire team to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Provide leadership and support to the project team, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Work as the focal point of contact between the donor agency and NAXA.
  • Prepare periodic project update reports highlighting project progress, bottlenecks, and risks.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all project stakeholders.

Problem Solving and Risk Management:

  • Implement strategies to resolve project delays and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and address any issues that may arise during project implementation to ensure smooth progress.

Data Collection and Management:

  • Oversee the collection of accurate and comprehensive data using digital tools and drone technology.
  • Ensure data integrity and manage the storage and analysis of collected data.
  • Utilize GIS and other relevant software for data visualization and reporting.

System Development Guidance:

  • Guide the system development team by interacting with local government officials.
  • Translate local government requirements into system features for the software development team.
  • Ensure that the developed systems meet the needs of the local authorities and the project objectives.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all project activities comply with local regulations and guidelines.
  • Implement safety protocols for drone operations and fieldwork.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, especially in e-governance or similar projects.
  • Proven experience in digital data collection and management, including the use of drone technology.
  • Strong understanding of GIS software and other relevant data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and guidelines related to data collection and drone operations.
  • Fluency in English and Nepali; knowledge of local languages spoken in Janakpur and Birgunj is a plus point.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project locations.
