Job Description

Program Manager - Shelter (PM-SL)-Single Post Based 75% in Lamjung & 25% in Kathmandu

The PM-SL core functions are to manage LWR Nepal Emergency Response Projects, including identifying and supporting local partners, developing emergency projects, providing technical guidance on shelter plans, representing LWR in the humanitarian community, and guiding the transition from relief and early recovery to development. The role of the Program Manager is to ensure that the emergency response projects meet the highest international standard of implementation.

Required qualification:  

  • 2 years progressive experience on earthquake resistant low-cost shelter
  • Experience in conducting rapid assessment of housing needs
  • Knowledge of minimum standards in disaster response (Sphere) 
  • Understanding of internationally humanitarian systems and in Nepal
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government
  • Experience working with local-based NGOs and community-based organizations
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HAP
  • Knowledge of cash transfer 
  • Familiarity with the cluster approach
