  • Good knowledge and experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation procedures;
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with policies, protocols, and procedures of international humanitarian and donor agencies;

Job Description

Scope of Work:

Program Manager plays a key role in the organization’s programming. In close collaboration with the Country Representative, s/he provides support to the implementation of ongoing and development of future projects.

The Program Manager is responsible for the projects implemented by the organization in Nepal. His/her main responsibility is to ensure that the projects are implemented, in compliance with donor and government’s guidelines and quality standards. Furthermore, that the projects are in line with the needs of the beneficiaries; implemented according to the plan, in a timely manner, and within the budget. The Program Manager actively involves in joint planning, management and decision-making in regards to the projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Overall Project Management:

  • Ensure implementation of the projects, ensuring the consistency with internal guidelines, back-donor regulations as well as with the humanitarian principles
  • Lead in all phases of project cycle: needs assessment, project design and planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Ensure that projects are managed through structured work plans, and adequate monitoring and evaluation schemes are in place and properly applied
  • Ensure and monitor progress achieved against intended targets, based on the project proposal and logical framework; and timely delivery of the project activities, based on the workplan;
  • Prepare narrative reporting as per requirements (including graphs, tables, photos)
  • Develop implementation strategy, implementation modalities; developing tools, etc

2. Finance/Admin:

  • In collaboration with the Finance and Admin Officer, support in drafting project budget and develop cash projection
  • Liaise with Finance and Admin Officer for timely and accurate management of fund transfers when needed
  • In collaboration with the Finance and Admin Officer, ensure that project is implemented within the budget; review financial reports of projects

3. Other Tasks:

  • Represent professionally the organization with project-related stakeholders
  • Tracking, researching and analysing information on assigned topics
  • Collect visual material from project sites and draft “Success Stories”, to be used for Communication purposes
  • Any other duties assigned within the overall scope of the position
