IsraAID Nepal is an international humanitarian and development aid agency working in Nepal for the past 3 years and around the globe for past 17 years. In Nepal, it currently implements various programs within the following Sectors: Livelihood and Women Empowerment; promoting Mental Well-Being through Advocacy and Technical Support; Emergency Preparedness and DRR; Emergency Response; Gender-based Violence; WASH; Youth Empowerment and Leadership; and Community Centre Building. Using core principles of building sustainable and resilient communities, we work primarily with earthquake affected and vulnerable populations in the country.

Position Title: Program Intern (Six months period with a probability of extension)

Location: Kathmandu

Duties & Responsibilities include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Provide Program and Research support for Nepal programs
  • Support Events, Workshops and Trainings Planning efforts including logistic arrangements
  • Contribute significantly to project implementation, case/field studies, report drafting process and data analysing
  • Assist Program officers, Coordinators and Directors for project related documentations
  • Conduct needs assessment survey and project impact assessments survey at the community level
  • Facilitate and participate in field visits, must have capability to travel outside of Kathmandu Valley as needed
  • Assist MHPSS coordinator for PSS -related trainings, and assist DCD in education, livelihood, and DRR/Emergency trainings
  • Follow up with the Training participants or program beneficiaries in collecting feedbacks and its compilation
  • Translate program documents, training documents and curriculums as well as conversational narration
  • Emcee IsraAID events and programs if necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Qualification and Skills required:

  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree or final year bachelor’s level education in the relevant field along with some basic knowledge/understanding of MHPSS (hands-on MHPSS training or equivalent certificate)
  • Proficient in computer applications and programs
  • Good communication skills both in Nepali and English
  • Good report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse team
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to learn
  • Ability to take initiative, work under supervision and independently as per situational needs
  • Knowledge of Nepal’s political, economic, social and cultural characteristics
  • Ability to research and conduct surveys are highly desirable
