SAATH (Social Service, Awareness raising and Advocacy for Tranquility and Humanity) is a Social Work organization working together with different individuals, groups and organizations in order to provide necessary support for people in need. SAATH in Nepali also means “Support” and “Togetherness”. SAATH believes that youth leadership and youth spirit generate positive vibes for innovation, entrepreneurship and socio- economic transformation.

The idea of SAATH started when eleven students with educational background in social work started a small project to support women and children living with HIV & AIDS. The success of the project motivated these students to continue working for social change. The group continued to work in different fields as a voluntary-based organization with youth-based projects in issues related to marginalized communities. This has included issues related to HIV and AIDS, Drug Use, Child Rights, LGBTI and elderly.

From 2012, SAATH took the next step. We then decided to direct our focus on education, socialization, capacity building and livelihood of girls and children who belong to marginalized communities. In addition, our approach of working also includes creating awareness & advocacy through different projects and activities.

Job Description

Program Management

Along with project team, overview and organize programs and project activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
Along with Senior Management Team (SMT) develop a budget and operating plan for the overall programs and its projects of SAATH
Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement
Manage a program and project team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities
Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
Meeting with stakeholders, donors and partners to make communication easy and transparent regarding program implementations
Ensure all communication with donors is timely and appropriate and meets all donor compliances throughout the project management cycle
Ensure all submissions are on time and of high quality, and adhering to donor guidelines and compliances
Support the capacity development of project staff on donor compliances

Program Development

Design and develop new project concepts and proposals under the Awasar and HakunaMatata Program
Support the Senior Management Team (SMT) in leading processes related to program development, such as proposal development workshops, proposal writing and review processes
Liaising with SMT and other program team in proposal development processes to ensure alignment of all new projects with SAATH strategies, policies and guidelines.
Develop action plans, timelines and submission checklists, organizing proposal development workshops together with partners
Develop draft concept notes, proposals and applications that reflect the priority areas of SAATH ie. Women and Children
Together with SMT, partners and/or consortium members develop concept ideas which can be used for future calls.
Maintain networking relationships with strategic and relevant actors in Nepal, such as embassies, bilateral donors, the UN system and other multilateral agencies
Proactively support the SMT in developing strategic alliances, consortium formation and partnerships for joint proposals, and planning and negotiating with partners on joint proposals and terms and conditions for the collaboration

Fund Raising

Develop a strategic plan and systematic approach for SAATH’s fundraising work
Identify and map potential funding opportunities for SAATH at country, regional and international level
In coordination with the SMT and advisory Team, monitor relevant Call for Proposals for SAATH
Lead and facilitate all of SAATH’s proposal development processes with partners or Consortium members
Take lead in submission and follow-up of proposals on timely manner
Contribute to the production of fundraising and communication materials as required in collaboration
Represent SAATH in donor meetings and information sessions gathering intelligence on funding opportunities
Manage and coordinate donor visits
