Burn Violence Survivors – Nepal, established in 2008, is one of the few organizations working specifically on prevention, protection, advocacy, curative and long-term recovery and rehabilitation of burns survivors. BVS-Nepal helps and supports survivors of burns accidents and violence, such as attempted homicide attacks, normally using kerosene or acid and cases of self-immolation and attempted suicide, often stemming from domestic violence. We have been able to help more than 8500 burns victims, till date, through medical and surgical, counseling, nutrition and physiotherapy since the inception of the organization. BVS-Nepal has successfully provided life skills and vocational trainings to thirty female burns violence survivors, to enable them to start a new life.

Job Specification

Education Level : Under Graduate (Bachelor)
Experience Required : More than or equal to 3 years
Other Specification
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology or Gender Studies
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project implementation/management
  • Knowledge and experience working on gender issues, GBV, acid and burn violence, including response, referral pathways and livelihood support
  • Experience in working with government institutions, NGOs and donor institutions
  • Proven knowledge of experience in advocacy with governments and planning processes of local, provincial and federal governments
  • Knowledge of governance system of Nepal and related laws and policies
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of the projects and analysing data
  • Excellent in proposal development and report writing
  • Excellent in spoken and written English and Nepali
  • Sound in using computer applications (MS Office, Excel and power-point)
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Can work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Description

Key area of Accountability:

  • Take lead in implementing all the interventions of the project with ensuring the quality of services
  • Frequently visit to program districts and hospitals including follow-up to staff and beneficiaries
  • Monitoring and ensure quality of services provided to hospitals and patients
  • Taken responsibility of organizing monthly meeting with staffs
  • Develop Semi annual and annual project report to donor
  • Assessment of the quality of registration and information collection for the Burn Patients
  • Produce success stories of the beneficiaries
  • Provide additional support as per the requirement of program/organization
