Education Journalists' Group is a forum of journalists which represents different print and electronic media organizations in Nepal. It is working collectively in different educational issues with the goal of creating a linkage between different groups of interest in education. The organization is registered under District Administration office in Kathmandu in 2000. For the sustainable development of any country, education plays a pivotal role. Recognizing this fact, EJG is committed to mainstreaming the educational issues in the media so that an effective social transformation will be realized by bettering the education.

Job Description

Purpose:

This position will lead in the overall coordination and the delivery of the project’s components with all project implementing members. S/he will work on national level policy advocacy and be responsible for implementing and reporting of project’s components with high quality and timely delivery to the satisfaction of the project’s stakeholders. 

Terms and Location: 8 months fixed term employment for the Dhanusha District based Programme.

Required Qualification and Experience: Master’s Degree in Humanities and Social Science, Management or Education. Minimum 3 years of experience in project management in the area of Promoting Quality Education. Must have experience of working on national policy advocacy with media on the issues of School Education or experienced in the related field.  Preference will be given for the work experience in INGOs areas Child Rights, school's SMC/PTA, Civil Society, NGOs and DEO.

Key End Results and Typical Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the project team and manage the project intervention, implementation, development of technical tools with adequate consultation and participation of programme team, Project Implementing Organizations’ members and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and review project operational plan, annual and quarterly plans and budget for effective project implementation.
  • Established and manage partnerships including ensuring effectiveness, economize and efficient utilization of resource and accountability.
  • Prepare and share quality periodic project reports as per donor requirement and project documents. 
  • Develop a system of capturing, documenting and disseminating project experience, achievements, lesson learned and best practices to stakeholders while maintaining project records for accountability purpose. 
  • Contribute to the research and analyses study and develop case studies on relevant issues and policy debates, advocacy and mobilizing media in the project implemented areas with the partner organizations.
