Population Services International/Nepal (PSI/Nepal) began operations in early 2002 and has been partnering with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and local and international organizations in areas of nationally defined health priorities to create health solutions that are built to last. PSI/Nepal has been capacitating private sector health services delivery system since last two decades and in parallel providing technical assistance to strengthen public health facilities to deliver primary health care and increase access to family planning and reproductive health services. PSI/Nepal with its expertise and experience in social and behavior change communication, clinical quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation and digital health interventions focuses on designing client centered health care projects to address reproductive health challenges affecting women of reproductive age. With an emphasis on consumer powered health care, PSI/Nepal invests in improving health care market for product and services, and develop solutions that are affordable, convenient, and effective, to help make universal health coverage more of a reality. In the past, PSI/Nepal has successfully managed HIV, malaria, menstrual hygiene management and health and hygiene projects. Currently, it works in areas of family planning, sexual and reproductive health and maternal and newborn health with health systems strengthening at its core. Private Sector Engagement Coordinator (3): Based in MPHD Nepal provincial offices; (i) Itahari (for Madhesh & Koshi Province) (ii) Hetauda ( for Bagmati and Gandaki Province) and (iii) Bhairahawa (for Karnali and Lumbini Province) 

The Private Sector Engagement Coordinator (PSEC) is responsible for driving impactful business development activities for SDPs at the provincial level. Based in MPHD Nepal’s provincial office in Itahari/Hetauda/Butwal the PSEC will supervise activities across two provinces. The PSEC will assess the business performance of the SDPs in the assigned two provinces and support to design and implement interventions for business promotion/growth and Provider Behaviour Change Communication (PBCC). Additionally, the PSEC will ensure the quality of business and PBCC related interventions through regular monitoring and coaching of MPHD project staff including owners/providers at SDPs. S/he is responsible for keeping track of monthly data collection, analyzing the data and taking strategic actions to achieve the project targets.  

Experience and Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) /Business Studies (MBS) Or degree in other relevant field with professional work experience of 5 years in sales, marketing or private sector enterprise development.  
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working with sales, marketing or enterprises development preferable in commercial sector relating to Pharma or FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) sector.  
  • Should have excellent communication/training facilitation and advocacy skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Nepali and English is must. 
  • Excellent understanding of Private sector in Nepal especially small and midsize enterprises. Market knowledge of private sector health providers (Family Planning /Sexual Reproductive Health) along with past involvement in capacity building of the private sector will be an asset.  
  • Willing to travel extensively with approximately 80% of time in the field. The position requires equal amount of travel between two provinces (50-50% of time in each province).
  • Experience working within multidepartment and diverse culture/expertise team setting.
