Roles and responsibilities of this job

The PMC / Client Engineer will represent the Client and oversee execution of building construction projects, ensuring quality, timely progress, cost control, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications. The role requires close coordination with contractors and consultants, proactive problem-solving, and strong monitoring of structural, finishing, and MEP works to ensure smooth project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Represent the Client on-site and monitor overall construction progress and performance.
Review and approve contractor’s work programs, method statements, and resource deployment plans.
Monitor site execution and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
Review and verify BBS, RFIs, and QC documentation, running bills, variation proposals prior to client approvals.
Identify discrepancies in drawings and site execution, coordinate with consultants for clarification, and ensure timely resolution to prevent delays.
Supervise structural, architectural finishing, and MEP works to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Facilitate smooth communication between Client, Contractor, and Consultants to avoid delays and disputes.
Monitor project progress against baseline schedule and advise corrective measures where necessary.
Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and municipal compliance requirements.
Review and verify DPR, WPR, MPR, and progress documentation.
Provide technical advice to the Client during meetings and project reviews.
Support risk assessment and mitigation planning.
Oversee and formally witness material testing procedures, review laboratory reports, and provide approvals to ensure quality compliance as per project specifications and standards.

Own vehicle and valid driving license highly preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Experience Requirements

Minimum 4-5 years of experience in civil construction projects.
Must have been involved in a building projects from initial stage to final completion and handover.
Strong exposure to structural works including excavation-piling, finishing and MEP works

Professional Skills Required

Strong technical understanding of structural, architectural finishing, and MEP systems in building construction and project monitoring/management.
Sound knowledge of national building standards, IS Codes, and municipal compliance procedures.
Ability to critically analyze drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, technical submissions, Work-schedules, Running Bills etc.
Capable of identifying drawing discrepancies, technical conflicts, and site-related issues submitted by the contractor, and proactively coordinating with consultants to obtain timely solutions while avoiding project delays.
Strong contract interpretation and commercial awareness for evaluating claims and variations.
Effective leadership and coordination skills to manage contractors and consultants.
Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, MS Office, and document control systems.
Strong reporting and documentation capability.
Good understanding of budgeting, cost monitoring, and variation evaluation.
Knowledge of testing procedures, material approvals, and workmanship standards for both civil and MEP works
