REEEP-GREEN is a technical cooperation project agreed between the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Federal Republic of Germany. With support of GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union, REEEP-GREEN is executed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and sets out to improve the preconditions for planning and implementation of measures for the promotion of renewable energies and the efficient use of energy in Nepal. The main objective of REEEP-GREEN is to create the regulatory, institutional, and private-sector conditions for disseminating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in Nepal. REEEP-GREEN uses a multi-level approach consisting of five output areas: Output 1: Policy- Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) at National Level; Output 2: Institutional Frameworks for RE and EE at Subnational Levels; Output 3: Sustainable Market Development for RE; Output 4: Dissemination of Results in the field of RE and EE; and Output 5: Energy Efficiency in Industries and Enterprises.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate trainings for provincial and local (non-)governmental actors
  • Facilitate or provide support for the regular meetings of the NVC practice group Nepal as well as the professional development of Nepalese NVC practitioners who are interested in becoming NVC trainers, including those registered as certification candidates with the Center for Nonviolent Communication
  • Facilitate Peace Education for creating a culture of peace and nonviolence in educational institutions and provide support in establishment of no-fault classrooms
  • Support strengthening the larger NVC community in Nepal by field visits and exploration of opportunities for continued international NVC trainings
  • Assistance for the implementation and expansion of Pro Public’s other peacebuilding programmes
  • Support advocacy processes in Pro Public
  • Contribute to conceptualizing and implementing infrastructures for peace like mediation, NVC, dialogue

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in social work, social science, peace and conflict studies, psychology, economical science or a related field
  • Nonviolent Communication training experience and skills in Training of Trainers in NVC and minimum 50 hours of NVC training received by certified NVC trainers
  • International experience in healing and reconciliation and in working with participants who have experienced violence
  • Knowledge of Peace Education in creating culture of peace and nonviolence in education institutions. Knowledge of would be an advantage
  • Knowledge on Child Psychology, Effective Parenting and Emotional Intelligence and infrastructures for peace would be an advantage
  • Knowledge on mediation and dialogue facilitation in socio-political contexts would be an advantage
  • Ability to deal constructively with ambiguity and be a positive, flexible and constructive member of a team
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Nepali language would be an asset or willingness to learn Nepali language

At the site of operation the particulate pollution occurs to be many time higher than the European acceptable limit. As part of the selection process and during the recruitment examination you will be informed of appropriate protective and behavioral measures.

The willingness for frequent business trips is required.
