Core Responsibilities and High-Impact Duties

This role is responsible for final verification, compliance, and control, not daily data entry.

1. Financial Control and Assurance (Auditing the Data)

Finalize Books: Conduct a detailed review of all daily cash, bank, sales, and purchase entries completed by the administrative staff in Tigg Accounting Software.
Monthly Reconciliation: Independently perform all critical reconciliations, including bank statements, major accounts payable (creditors), and accounts receivable (debtors).
Internal Controls: Establish and monitor basic internal control procedures (e.g., authorization limits, petty cash processes) to mitigate the risk of fraud or error.

2. Statutory Compliance and Tax Filing

VAT Management: Verify all VAT input and output calculations and prepare the final monthly/quarterly VAT returns (IRD-3.1) for submission.
TDS Management: Calculate, file, and ensure timely payment of all Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) obligations.
Audit Readiness: Ensure all financial records and supporting documents are systematically archived and organized to minimize time and cost during the annual external audit.

3. Reporting and Financial Analysis

Month-End Close: Manage the complete month-end closing process and ensure the books are finalized within the first 5–10 days of the following month.
Management Reports: Prepare and present accurate, easy-to-understand monthly financial reports, including the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and key expense variance reports that management can use for decision-making.

Commitment: Part-Time (Approx. 15–20 hours per week or 3 half-days)
Reporting To: Company Management/Owner
Salary: Negotiable (Targeting NPR 30,000 – 45,000 per month based on experience)
Objective: To take full ownership of the financial integrity, statutory compliance (VAT/TDS), and management reporting for the company, transforming raw administrative data into actionable financial insights.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (BBS, BBA, etc.). Candidates who are pursuing or have completed CA/ACCA papers are highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in managing full-cycle accounting, preferably in an SME environment.
Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Tigg Accounting Software (or similar local software) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas).
Compliance: In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of Nepalese tax laws (VAT, TDS, Income Tax) and IRD portal filing procedures.
Personal Traits: High integrity, analytical thinking, self-motivated, and capable of working independently to meet strict deadlines. The ability to clearly communicate financial data to non-finance management is essential.
