Population Services International/Nepal (PSI/Nepal) began operations in early 2002 and has been partnering with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and local and international organizations in areas of nationally defined health priorities to create health solutions that are built to last. PSI/Nepal has been capacitating private sector health services delivery system since last two decades and in parallel providing technical assistance to strengthen public health facilities to deliver primary health care and increase access to family planning and reproductive health services. PSI/Nepal with its expertise and experience in social and behavior change communication, clinical quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation and digital health interventions focuses on designing client centered health care projects to address reproductive health challenges affecting women of reproductive age. With an emphasis on consumer powered health care, PSI/Nepal invests in improving health care market for product and services, and develop solutions that are affordable, convenient, and effective, to help make universal health coverage more of a reality. In the past, PSI/Nepal has successfully managed HIV, malaria, menstrual hygiene management and health and hygiene projects. Currently, it works in areas of family planning, sexual and reproductive health and maternal and newborn health with health systems strengthening at its core. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and submit a detailed implementation plan (DIP) stating the processes, methodologies, and timelines for conducting the outcome harvesting study.
  • Provide an initial briefing to PSI/Nepal team to ensure that the entire team understands the methodology and process of the outcome harvesting study.
  • Review relevant project documents and materials and prepare a summary report presenting the major outcomes of the Women's Health Project (WHP).
  • Organize and facilitate a workshop aimed at finalizing the outcome descriptions/statements based on input and discussions during the workshop.
  • Identify and finalize the list of stakeholders who will be involved in the substantiation and key informant interviews (KII).
  • Lead the substantiation process, by communicating and scheduling interviews with key informants and relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct interviews with key informants and stakeholders and document the interviews through transcripts or summaries.
  • Process and analyze the collected data, interpret and finalize the outcomes of the project.
  • Draft and finalize the outcome harvesting study report.
  • Prepare a study brief that summarizes the process and major findings of the study.
  • Organize and facilitate a dissemination meeting with government and other releant stakeholders to share the findings from the outcome harvesting study.

Experience and Qualification:

  • At least master’s degree in public health or related discipline
  • In-depth understanding and practical experience with the Outcome Harvesting methodology is essential.
  • Familiarity with the National Safe Abortion Program in Nepal is preferred.
  • Proficiency in qualitative research methods, data analysis techniques is required. Demonstrated experience in conducting in depth interviews and focus group discussions is necessary.
  • Strong facilitation skills for conducting workshops, interviews with project staffs and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in monitoring and evaluation, and research in the health-related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in qualitative analysis software tool (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti), is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively documenting and presenting findings.
