Unit: Chitwan Hotel and Restaurant Pvt ltd. (Canteen)
Location: Maharajung, Kathmandu, Nepal
Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 06:00 PM) from Sunday to Friday

Position Overview:

The Operations Manager is responsible for formulating strategies, improving performance,
procuring material and resources, and securing compliance in coordination with the management
in one of our units (Chitwan Hotel and Restaurant at Kanti Hospital). S/he shall oversee and
coordinate the daily operations of the organization. S/he will work closely with various teams to
streamline operations, improve overall performance, increase quality of customer service, and
implement best practices across all levels.

Roles and Responsibilities

Operations:

  • Optimize operations by implementing efficient workflows, procedures, and scheduling to meet customer demand while controlling costs.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by monitoring service quality, addressing customer feedback, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Forecast and oversee the daily, and monthly expenses in coordination with the finance department.
  • Communicate with the units for daily, weekly purchase orders and bills for further processing.
  • Work within existing policies and procedures, and safety regulations to ensure goals are achieved relating to revenue and growth.

Vendor/Procurement and Inventory:

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor deliveries to secure high-quality ingredients and cost-effective supplies.
  • Forecast demand to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Monitor inventory levels and track inventory movements.
  • Implement measures to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.

Others:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to execute promotional campaigns, events, and marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
  • Monitor budget and financial performance, analyze sales data, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
  • Oversee shift schedules, staffing levels, and labor costs to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours and maintain a smooth operation.
  • Prepare and provide reports to the management.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repair and maintenance as per the requirement.
  • Oversee the completion of different projects (start to end).

Skills and Qualifications

Task Related:

  • Bachelor';s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar leadership role within the restaurant industry.

Competencies and Soft Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
