Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are looking for an Operations Associate to oversee daily operations at the Material Recovery Facility in Sallaghari and coordinate activities across the Teku and BMC sites. The role involves direct, day-to-day exposure to an operational waste-handling environment, including waste materials, outdoor conditions, and active vehicle movement. It also requires ensuring efficient use of resources, compliance with health and safety standards, and accurate record-keeping to support business decisions and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site & Operations Management

Supervise operations at Sallaghari site to ensure smooth management, resource allocation, and optimization.
Set priorities, targets, and assign work to ground staff across multiple sites.
Visit informal and formal waste management companies and vendors for scrap procurement.
Manage pickup vehicle movement across multiple sites; track and verify daily vehicle activity, kilometers run, recurring maintenance records, and related operational data.
Maintain proper health and safety standards, and report any incidents or injuries.
Support procurement activities including vendor research, purchase order preparation, and coordination with suppliers.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements across sites.

2. Data Analysis & Reporting

Enter and track purchases and operational data in the company’s IT system.
Collect, process, and analyze operational and financial data from sites to monitor progress and optimize processes.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports, highlighting key performance metrics and recommendations for process improvements.

3. Accounts & Inventory Management

Record, manage, and report accounts data including inward and outward waste volume metrics, waste processing data, and HR-related data.
Maintain monthly inventory of sellable scrap across all sites and generate inventory reports.
Manage cash and verify daily scrap transactions with supporting documentation.
Record all scrap sales and purchases accurately.
Ensure statutory compliance including billing, VCTS, statutory books, and other legal requirements.

4. Cross-Site Coordination

Oversee and coordinate the processes of inward and outward waste from Sallaghari, Teku, and BMC sites.
Maintain clear communication with teams across all sites to ensure adherence to company policies and operational standards.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field.
Minimum one year of experience in operations, site management, or a similar role (experience in waste management or scrap/recycling industry preferred).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage priorities across multiple sites.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other IT systems for data entry and reporting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with ground staff, and cross-site teams.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
Willingness to travel between sites and work in field conditions as needed.
