SMEC has operated in Nepal since 1968. SMEC’s first project in Nepal was the 300 MW Karnali Hydropower Project. SMEC provided project planning services and undertook feasibility studies on the project. 

Since then, SMEC has worked on a range of projects throughout Nepal including: a water resources and energy training program on behalf of the Government of Nepal; Rasuwagadhi Hydroelectric Project; Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Transport Project; and the Sanjen (Upper) and Sanjen Hydroelectric Project located approximately 160 km north of Kathmandu. 

More recently, SMEC has been awarded a contract by the Government of Nepal’s Department of Electricity Development to provide detailed engineering designs and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) on the 20 MW Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project.

Job Description

Education:

  • Minimum: Graduate in Business Administration, Business Studies, 
  • Preferable: Masters in Business Administration, Business Studies, Accounting etc.

Total Experience: 5 years 

  • Experience in a related field: 2-4 years or above in infrastructure projects
  • Experience in the proposed field of expertise: is equal to 5 years above experience as an Office
  • Manager/Office Administrator in at least one construction supervision of infrastructure project;
  • Experience in basic accounting will be preferable.

Language: Communication fluently in the English Language
