Job Description

Organization: BizSolutions 360, Inc. / Nepal Engineering Services (NES)
Work based Station: Surkhet, Nepal
Contract Period: Until 3rd Aug 2024 with an option to renew for 4 years.

The NES Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects at the operational level. He will conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure the adherence of construction work to specified standards. Beyond technical expertise, this role involves reviewing and approving project designs, construction schedules, and cost estimates, contributing significantly to project success. Maintaining accurate project records, collaborating with stakeholders, and preparing insightful reports are integral aspects of the Resident Engineer's role. Their multifaceted responsibilities also encompass providing technical guidance to contractors and project personnel, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, and effectively communicating project progress and issues to diverse audiences. Overall, the Resident Engineer plays a pivotal role in the seamless execution of construction projects, combining technical prowess with effective project management skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Technical and Project Management Oversight:

  • Provide robust technical leadership and project management oversight to guarantee the successful execution of infrastructure projects.

Site Visits and Inspections:

  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the quality and progress of construction work.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to contractors and project personnel, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.

Design Review and Approval:

  • Review and approve project designs, construction schedules, and cost estimates to ensure alignment with project objectives and quality standards.

Document Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including construction schedules, procurement documents, and other relevant documentation.
  • Establish and manage a systematic document control system.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including USAID staff, local communities, and government agencies.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination to address concerns and align project activities with community needs.

Reporting and Presentations:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate project progress, achievements, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and engage in transparent and informative reporting.

Compliance Assurance:

  • Ensure all project activities strictly adhere to USAID policies and regulations.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety standards, guaranteeing a secure working environment at all times.
