Global Action Nepal is dynamic social organization which has been working exclusively in Nepal for more than two decades to help improving the quality of life of marginalized people in Nepal engaging stakeholders meaningfully for quality education, equity, human rights and lifelong learning. GAN is implementing Civil Society Participation in Education (COPE) Project, funded by the European Commission, implement through a consortium led by National Campaign for Education Nepal in partnership with GAN, Nepal Disabled Women Association. The main objective of this project is to unite various stakeholders in addressing issues related to accountability and governance within the education sector. The project is to be implemented in Dhanusha, Siraha and Rautahat districts of Madesh province and Dailekh, Kalikot, Surkhet districts of Karnali province.

Thus, GAN is seeking for pro-active, qualified, self-motivated, dedicated and outcome oriented Project Officer under COPE project.

Duration: February 16-December 31, 2020

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Design monitoring and evaluation system of the project

  • Collect, analyse, verify and ensure the validity and quality of the data, prepare Monitoring and Evaluation evidence report share with VSO and submit to DC and central office
  • Prepare the periodic monitoring report and support to develop monitoring reports of other staffs
  • Prepare periodical reports as per the agreement and support in the logical framework and the indicators with the funding agency
  • Based on facts and analysed data, timely report to the district Coordinator on direction/trend of the project in terms of achieving goal and objectives
  • Orient and capacitate the project staff on field level monitoring, and data collection methods. Develop simple data collection format, tools and orient project staffs
  • Compile appropriate and disaggregated data and prepare narrative reports for submissions for quarterly and annual reports to central and to VSO
  • Document well, the project activities and outcomes, disseminate information in the wider community  
  • Support the district team for the review meetings with the stakeholders
  • Work closely with VSO M&E Manager to ensure appropriate and adequate monitoring efforts are in place to provide all stakeholders with data needed to inform program successful and further implementation decision

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social science, Statistics or any other related subjects or any other discipline with 2-year experience
  • Excellent knowledge and skills on monitoring and evaluation techniques and process
  • Proven  Skill in Report Writing  and Data analysis
  • Working knowledge of EXCEL and/or SPSS

Skills and Knowledge

  • Project management, Good communication skill with good English and Nepali language competency, written and spoken
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office package, email and Internet
  • Good photography Skills will be an asset

Benefits: Annual salary NPR. 390,000/- including festival allowance (20% Project contribution on basic salary and communication expenses will be added)
