Job Location: Location: The position is based at TFN House, Kathmandu with regular visits to working areas and communities as required.

Role Summary: 

The role of Monitoring and Evaluation Manager is to conduct research, and collect and analyze data in order to measure outcomes. The research and study would generate knowledge from TFN’s work to inform the organization in future planning and direction. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create evaluation frameworks for internal research and knowledge generation
  • Conduct different evaluation researches that document TFN’s outcomes and inform future programmatic strategies; 
  • Assist in the designing of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan and tools for respective teams; 
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and experts to run an large scale research and external evaluation of TFN’s outcomes and impact; and 
  • Manage TFN’s M&E database. 

Qualification and experiences: 

The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree preferably in sociology with statistics. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in other social sciences with prior experience in research and/or monitoring and evaluation will also be considered. 

Research and evaluation experience in the education sector will be an asset. 

Skills: 

  • Research design and implementation skills; 
  • Working knowledge of statistical software, programs and tools; (SPSS/ STATA and Salesforce) 
  • Data management and analysis skills; 
  • Advanced writing skills in English and Nepali languages; and 
  • Advanced skills in the office suite. 

Competencies: 

  • Aligned with Teach for Nepal values, and demonstrate a strong belief and commitment to the movement; 
  • Understanding of issues in education and education inequality in Nepal; 
  • Ability to independently lead M&E and proactively propose research topics in line with TFN’s theory of change;
  • Be outcome driven and have the ability to plan and prioritize one’s work to meet deadlines; 
  • Demonstration people-skills in building authentic relationships with internal and external collaborators.
