Job Description

Main Objective: To guarantee the quality, relevance and scaling of the MHCP strategy and interventions on the mission, respecting Action Contre La Faim ‘s  and international standards and national policies

TASKS AND RESPONSIBITIES:

  • To contribute to definition of the country strategy, and definition of the strategy and positioning of the MHCP technical department  
  • To coordinate identification of needs and formulation of project proposals.
  • To support implementation and carry out reporting on programmes/projects
  • To guarantee the quality and accountability of the projects
  • To ensure the active involvement of Action Contre La Faim in the national sectoral coordination, the technical platforms and develop sectoral partnerships
  • To manage the teams
  • To promote capitalization, development, technology and research in the MHCP department
  • Guarantee and ensure the confidentiality of data collected during the MHCP activities of the mission

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, psychiatry or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in I/NGOs in Mental Health and Care Practices with at least three (3)  years of experience in managerial position, preferably in both humanitarian and developmental context.
  • Knowledge of MHCP tools, techniques and conceptual frameworks in MHCP.
  • Knowledge and Experience of working on gender and protection issues is an asset.
  • Proven experience in developing MHCP strategies and designing, planning, implementing and monitoring relevant projects.
  • Ability to demonstrate both successful clinical and humanitarian field experiences in MHCP.
  • International exposure in clinical research and analysis.
  • Complementary skills in logistics and administrative procedures and capitalization ( international standards and methodology intervention)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in coordination mechanisms within MHCP sector and different stakeholder at various levels.
  • Strong capacity building and team supervision capacities.
  • Good report writing and proposal writing skills.
  • Excellent standard of oral and written English.

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Contract Duration: 8 months with possibility of extension
Basic Salary per month: NPR 1, 39,104 (plus accommodation allowance (based on localized /delocalized employee status, transportation allowance, festival bonus benefit and provident fund)
Duty Station: Kathmandu
