Maternal New Born and Child Health (MNCH) Officer for Pregnant Woman Group ( PWG) Project: 1 Position

About the Project: Plan International Nepal will be supporting Ministry of Government of Health & Population Nepal to implement Pregnant Woman Group project funded by USAID Development Innovation Venture grants. The project is implemented in 15 districts of Nepal and aims to improve access to and utilization of community-based material and child health services for disadvantaged pregnant women through PWGs.

Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Pregnant Woman Groups project interventions at district level. S/he will report to Project Manager, PWG project at Country Office.

Terms and Location:  Fixed term employment till 31st July 2017 based in District Public Health Office, Rupandehi.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health/ Nursing / Nutrition/ Social Sciences or in relevant technical field.
  • At least 2 years of work experiences in the areas of Maternal Neonatal and Child Health and government health system.
  • Competencies both in spoken and written English and Nepali languages with computer skill.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and work closely with District Public Health Officers and other line agency to implement the project activities.
  • Review the project activities to ensure effective and timely implementation of it and plan regular health program activities.
  • Write report, document the good practices and success stories for shared learning and monthly reporting in data of project indicators.
  • Facilitate and conduct Health Worker and Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHV) Training.
  • Assess the situation and strengthen the Primary Health Care (PHC) /Outreach Clinic (OC) and birthing center in intervention VDCs.
