Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Legal Officer to join our Legal & Compliance team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across the Group's business operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while safeguarding the organization's legal interests.

The selected candidate will be responsible for handling legal matters of three sister concerns within the Group:

Food & Agro-based Manufacturing Company
Pharmaceutical Company
Distillery

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, negotiate, and vet contracts, agreements, MoUs, and other legal documents.
Handle trademark registration, intellectual property matters, and other legal protection processes.
Provide legal advice and opinions on corporate, commercial, employment, regulatory, and contractual matters.
Prepare legal notices, replies, affidavits, and other legal correspondence on behalf of the Company.
Coordinate with external legal counsel in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licenses, and statutory requirements.
Liaise with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders on legal matters.
Maintain legal records, contract databases, corporate documents, and statutory filings.
Support various departments by providing timely legal guidance and risk assessment.
Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise management on compliance requirements.
Perform other legal and compliance-related duties assigned by the Company.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.).
A valid Advocate License is mandatory.
Experience: Prior experience in corporate legal practice or as an In-house Legal Officer will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of:

Company Law
Contract Law
Corporate & Commercial Law
Labour Law
Intellectual Property Law
Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret laws and provide practical legal advice.
Good proficiency in Nepali typing.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple legal matters.
